Management & Training Corporation to Operate New Imperial Regional Detention Center

(CENTERVILLE, Utah) – Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with the city of Holtville, California to operate the new Imperial Regional Detention Center effective September 11, 2014.

“We look forward to the opportunity to work in the great community of Imperial Valley,” said MTC Senior Vice President of Corrections Odie Washington. “We have partnered with state and federal governments in operating correctional facilities for more than 25 years, and have a strong record of providing safe, secure, and well-run facilities.”

The Imperial Regional Detention Center will house U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees, and has a capacity of 704 offenders. The city of Holtville and ICE entered into an intergovernmental services agreement to house ICE detainees at this facility for a period of five years. MTC will operate the facility under an agreement with the city of Holtville.

MTC is also pleased to announce the selection of John Rathman as the new warden of the facility. Warden Rathman has worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for nearly three decades most recently as the warden of the Federal Correctional Institution in Talladega, Alabama. Warden Rathman brings a wealth of experience in corrections and will be a tremendous leader.
