Management & Training Corporation to Operate the Bridgeport Pre-Parole Transfer Facility

(CENTERVILLE, Utah)– Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is pleased to announce the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) has awarded the company a contract to operate the Bridgeport Pre-Parole Transfer Facility effective September 15, 2013. The contract extends through August 2017.

“We look forward to continuing to build strong relationships in the great state of Texas,” said MTC Corrections Vice President Rich Gansheimer. “With this facility, MTC will operate nine correctional facilities for TDCJ.”

MTC also operates the nearby Bridgeport Correctional Center which houses male, minimum-security inmates for Texas. MTC has operated this facility since 2010. Both correctional facilities house inmates who are typically within two years of parole eligibility or a release date.

Gansheimer added, “Operating both Bridgeport facilities allows us to share some resources including finance and human resources. The facilities will be under the direction of Warden David McComis who’s been the warden of the Bridgeport Correctional Center since 2010.”

Senior Vice President Odie Washington said, “MTC prides itself on performance and integrity. We will provide offenders at this facility with evidence-based programming that will help them become successful in society once released. Studies show that inmates who receive quality educational, vocational, and life skills courses are less likely to end up back in prison after they’re released.”

MTC is a privately-held company based in Centerville, Utah. With the addition of this contract, MTC will operate 24 correctional facilities in eight states. MTC is the third largest contractor of correctional facilities in the nation and the largest operator of the federal Job Corps program, which helps young adults find quality jobs through education and technical training.
