Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center Contract Awarded to Management & Training Corporation

(ST. PAUL, Minnesota) – Management & Training Corporation (MTC), the largest operator of the federal Job Corps program, has been awarded a contract to operate the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center in St. Paul, Minnesota effective March 1, 2016. The contract includes outreach and admissions and career transition services for the state of Minnesota.

Humphrey center,” said MTC Senior Vice President of Education & Training John Pedersen. “Job Corps is the nation’s premiere residential, job-training program. MTC has been in business for 35 years, and we’ve seen thousands of young people’s lives greatly improved because of Job Corps. It is a powerful program.”
The Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center will serve 264 students, providing training in a variety of fields including certified nursing assistant, home health aide, office administration, medical administrative assistant, facilities maintenance, and culinary arts. Job Corps will provide students with quality education and training which will prepare them to succeed in the job market and become successful, tax-paying citizens.
Job Corps is a free, federal program administered by the Department of Labor. Those interested in joining Job Corps must be legal residents, 16-24 years, and meet certain income requirements. Once in the program, students can earn their high school diploma or an equivalency and earn industry-recognized certifications in a wide variety of trades. With these credentials, students are placed in quality jobs and become successful, tax-paying citizens. There are 126 Job Corps centers throughout the country.
