Arizona State Prison Complex-Kingman Inmates Earn Thousands of Certifications

(KINGMAN, Arizona)– Inmates at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Kingman, have earned 5,660 certifications so far in 2013.

“We are so proud of our education department for the effective programming they offer to our offenders each and every day,” said Complex Manager Jerry Sternes. “We are equally as proud of the hundreds of inmates who take advantage of these opportunities while they’re at the facility. These programs serve as a spring board to an effective transition back to society.”

Thus far in 2013, the facility has awarded 190 GEDs and 5,470 certifications in a wide variety of courses including:

    • Electrical
    • HVAC
    • Building Trades
  • Culinary Arts
  • Substance Abuse Education
  • DUI Education and Treatment
  • Victim Impact
  • Financial Literacy
  • Introduction to Psychology
  • College Correspondence Course
  • Anger Management
  • Stress Reduction
