Dr. Robert L. Marquardt
Dr. Robert L. Marquardt co-founded MTC in 1981. Today, more than 30 years later, MTC is the largest operator of the Job Corps program and third largest operator of private correctional facilities. MTC employs nearly 9,400 people worldwide, all thanks to Dr. Marquardt’s hard work, determination, and a vision centered on helping other people succeed in life. Dr. Marquardt adopted the acronym “BIONIC” or Believe it or Not I Care. This slogan says it all. It was because he cared that Dr. Marquardt was drawn to Job Corps. He cared about young adults who had grown up in challenging circumstances. He cared about offenders who needed direction and encouragement to become successful, contributing members of society. He cared about citizens in war-torn countries who needed educational training to sustain themselves and their families. Dr. Marquardt left behind a legacy of entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and community service.
